For years, improper disposal of paint and its packaging has polluted our waterways, stuffed our landfills, and threatened precious ecosystems. It’s a hidden issue that was too easy to ignore. Until Paintback stepped in. This wasn’t just about cleaning up. It was about flipping the script and transforming paint cans from an environmental headache into an opportunity for good.

We launched "Unwanted Paint Can Do More," a cheeky, creative campaign that turned forgotten paint cans into the stars of the show. With humour and heart, it humanised forgotten paint cans as lonely, ‘feeling blue,’ and waiting for a second chance. The message? Improper disposal harms the planet, but responsible disposal fuels sustainability and a circular economy. Paintback showed Aussies how discarded paint could build a greener future. The impact was huge. Australians swapped neglect for action, dropping off unwanted paint at hubs nationwide. Every can saved from landfill proved that small acts drive big environmental change, making Paintback a movement that matters.
