From standard salami to standout smallgoods.

Puopolo has been crafting authentic Italian salumi in Australia for over 40 years, with a family story rich with heritage, tradition and handcrafted care. But despite decades of dedication, the brand was getting lost in an increasingly crowded smallgoods category, blending into a sea of similar-looking labels with no distinctive voice or identity to call its own. The challenge was to transform a respected but under-recognised name into a brand that could truly stand out on shelf, and in the hearts of everyday Australians.​

We built the brand platform Made Slow, a rallying cry rooted in the philosophy of family patriarch Vitangelo Puopolo, who believed perfection simply cannot be rushed. At the centre of the campaign is “Slow Joe”, a character inspired by Vitangelo's lifelong dedication to patience and the Italian craft of salumi-making. Brought to life through a richly cinematic film, striking OOH and a complete brand overhaul drawing on 1960s Mediterranean design reimagined through a modern Melbourne-Italian lens, Made Slow gave Puopolo a voice as rich and distinctive as the product itself. In a world moving faster every day, slowing down became the most powerful thing a brand could do.
